Through participation in the “Empowering Young People’s Digital Rights in Youth Work” activities, you have demonstrated key competencies in policy review, strategic planning, and implementation.

Participate in the youth work management team's ideation meeting on digital rights policy integration to earn the Digital Rights Policy badge.

Preparation:
  • Review your organisation’s existing policies alongside the Digital Rights Infographic.
  • Identify areas where policies need to be updated to reflect young people’s digital rights better.

Activity:
  • Step 1: Mark areas where digital rights are not fully covered in current policies
  • Step 2: Develop updates or new policies that address gaps in areas such as data protection, online safety, and digital inclusion
  • Step 3: Upload the updated policies to claim a digital badge

Get the badge:
  • Task: Review your organisation’s policies to assess how well they address digital rights and develop recommendations for improvement.
  • Evidence: Submit a policy review document including:
  1. Areas where current policies already align with digital rights
  2. Gaps and areas for improvement

  • Ask everyone in the management team to identify areas where policies need to be updated to reflect young people’s digital rights better.

Activity:
  • Step 1. People involved in the youth work management can assess current policies and propose updates to align with digital rights principles. Examples of policy improvements may include adding new clauses to data privacy and online safety policies, revising existing language to strengthen digital rights protections, creating new policies on digital participation and inclusion
  • Step 2. Meet online to discuss and agree on the ways to integrate the youth digital rights into your organisation's policies.
